AHCA/NCAL Bronze Quality Awards Application Workshop
If you’ve thought about participating in the award program, now is your opportunity to make it easy on yourself! This workshop is a full day of training on how to complete the AHCA/NCAL Bronze Quality Award application. You will leave with a complete application (or a few areas to fill in if you do not bring all of the necessary information to the class). You must bring a paper copy of the Bronze Award packet/instructions, a laptop computer, and your AHCA user ID and password. The actual application will be completed through AHCA’s web portal during class.

Workshop objectives
• Become knowledgeable about the AHCA/NCAL Bronze Quality Award application process
• Understand the technical requirements and policies of the application process
• Review and learn the award criteria
• Develop the framework for your facility’s award application

What to bring to the workshop (Note that this information will not be shared with the other participants;
it is for your use only):

• Laptop computer
• Bronze Award packet/instructions which is downloaded from www.ahcancal.org
• Summaries of resident, family, and other satisfaction surveys that you have conducted in the last year
• AHCA website user ID and password (Request one from AHCA at [email protected])
• Your facility’s mission and/or vision statement
• List of your facility’s major employee groups, with the number of desired employees for each group and
any descriptions of minimum education levels for these groups
• Summaries of resident, family, and other satisfaction surveys that you have conducted in the last year
• An organizational chart of your parent company (if this applies to you)
• A basic geographical description of your facility’s local market area, defined as the area from which you
draw residents, key customers, and/or staff members
• The names of the data sources that you currently use to access comparative and competitive data
• A list of the steps of your process to remedy problems or make improvements
• Identify one thing that you have improved or remedied using the steps; include a numerical measure of
the improvement. If your facility is a skilled nursing facility, the improvement should be clinical in nature.
• If you are an assisted living provider, identify a second situation that you have improved or remedied using
the steps; include a numerical measure of the improvement.

Nursing home and assisted living owners and administrators (Ideally each facility should have two representatives
at the workshop.)

Continuing Education

The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities is an approved provider of continuing education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, #5-0002.  To receive the 7.8 contact hours, you must complete the entire program. Certificates may be printed once the program evaluation is submitted. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 502-425-3431. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than December 4th will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between December 4th to December 10 will receive a refund of 1/2Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office.
