This session will review falls with major injury quality measures that impact the Quality Measure component of the Nursing Home Compare Five-Star Quality Rating system. During the session, we will review how this measure is calculated and how it impacts your overall Five-Star Quality Rating. The session will focus on best practices for reducing falls with major injury in your facility and how to improve this measure using a QAPI framework with emphasis on reduction of common MDS coding errors and implementation of a facility specific Five Star road map action plan.

Her expertise includes developing clinical training tools, policies, procedures, protocols and training programs on systems, processes and best practices. Shelly is also a QAPI Certified Professional (QCP) through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators.

Continuing Education

The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities is an approved provider of continuing education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, #5-0002.  To receive the 1.50 contact hours, you must complete the entire program. Certificates may be printed once the program evaluation is submitted. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 502-425-3431. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than July 15 will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between July 15  to July 21  will receive a refund of 1/2. Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office.
